New Product Development Process – We’ll Help You Start to Finish

The process of moving a concept throughout innovation, development, and production can oftentimes be difficult and complicated. However, at Butler Technologies it is our goal to eliminate the hassle oftentimes associated with this process. We have a “New Product Development Process” that makes the process as simple as painless as possible for our customers. But what is our New Product Development Process? Read more to find out!

Step 1: Initial Conversation

The entire process begins once you reach out to our team about your specific needs and requirements. We help you to understand our company and our to guide you through the process of working with us. This is where we can answer any potential questions you may have!

Step 2: Non-Disclosure Agreement

The Non-Disclosure Agreement is completed as soon as our conversations begin because we care about protecting your concepts and ideas! The NDA is agreed upon so that we can freely discuss the specific requirements to bring your idea from a concept to a reality.

Step 3: Introductory Call with Research and Development Team

This is the first in-depth conversation between you and the group who will be helping to develop your project. Here is where we will learn more about your company and the specific parameters needing to be met for your project. Any initial questions that you may have will be addressed here as well.

Step 4: Feasibility Test

During the feasibility test is where our team will address the steps your project would involve. Does this project fit into the BTI scope? What all will be required for this project’s creation? Once we’ve done our assessment, we will follow up with you and the next steps in the process.

Step 5: Submit Proposal

Here is where we will address the project’s projected cost, terms, and the timeline we feel we can have the project completed in. We will develop a Statement of Work and the project’s deliverables at this time.

Step 6: Proposal Accepted

Once you have read over the submitted proposal and agree to both the financials and the Terms and Conditions, the contract will be completed!

Step 7: Finalize Technical Requirements

Prior to ordering material, this is another consultation step in the process. Here is where we can address any questions that may arise and review the specifications of your project.

Step 8: Submit Design for Approval

Our Engineers will develop an “approval drawing” with any relevant CAD files detailing your project’s design. This will be your opportunity to review the drawing for any corrections or changes that need to be made! Once the approval drawing is agreed upon and signed off, your project’s timeline will begin!

Step 9: Procurement and Scheduling

During this step, the tools and materials needed for the project will be ordered. The production job will also be scheduled during this time and production begins!

Step 10: Prototype Production

The parts will be manufactured to your specific requirements. We will inspect, test, and package your project and ship it to your company.

Step 11: Customer Validation

Once you receive your manufactured prototype, you will inspect and approve it. If changes need to be made, then we will restart the New Product Development Process with you!

Step 12: Full-Scale Production

If the project was approved in the previous step, then full-scale production will begin!
